This interface evolved over the course of the project. Once we talked to users of the website we realized that the vast majority of usage would take place within the Client screens, and it made sense to treat that screen as the starting point for the app. We ditched the concept of a screen named "Home", and three of the buttons shown here, Clients, Alerts (renamed "Notifications") and Reports joined Settings at the bottom of the screen. Search fell out of scope, and the client menu, recast as icons, became the defacto home screen.

Each client button leads to a menu of options for that client. Notifications and Reports take the user to screens that contain info for multiple clients, and Settings to screens that set preferences for the whole app.
